About

Hello!

Welcome to Louise Groom Photography. The pictures published here will mainly be Wildlife, Nature and Equine based with a few other pictures here and there :).

I’m a recent graduate of Wildlife Media from the University of Cumbria. Previous to this I studied a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management at Berkshire College of Agriculture. Tying both my passions together, to become an Equine Photographer.

During my time at college I was also able to practice my passion for photography. I was approached by the events manager to take pictures of the British Eventing cross country fences for the upcoming BE horse trials. I also took pictures of the day and students doing their jobs at the horse trials along with pitching in with the XC fence judging. I also took photo’s for the yard manager for horses for sale. During this time as well, I took pictures of lessons, demos and when on trips for my own personal use.

I first developed an interest in photography when I was 13 as I was always taking over the camera to take pictures on family holidays. I was born in Leicester and moved to Berkshire when I was 5. At 10 years old I started horse riding and 9 years down the line I’m still enjoying this hobby, though it’s had to take a bit of a backseat whilst starting University I still enjoy working and riding in the holidays and I was fortunate to compete for the University in Dressage and Show Jumping March 2013.

Over the years I have (slowly) built up the equipment I own. I currently shoot with a Canon 6D with an F/4 300mm and F/4 70-200mm as my most used lenses during photoshoots.
